We finished reading The Rock and the River this week, and students have been working in groups of three to outline the thesis statement, topic sentences, detail sentences, and parenthetical citations of their essay. Students also took their vocabulary lessons 13-14 quiz and completed vocabulary exercises and made flashcards for vocabulary lessons 15-16 in preparation for their quiz on Tuesday. The class has also been revising their villanelles and will submit their final drafts on Monday, Some students are working on short stories for the Young Authors Fair while others are working on a Beatles grammar and research project that they wiil present next week.
